Amelia the Sea Turtle
It was 2017 when founder Amy Beach and artist Sandra Baker-Hinton visited the Georgia Sea Turtle Center in Jekyll Island. There they toured the educational area and first saw a Sea Turtle made from trash. That idea stayed with Amy as she collected more marine debris from our local beaches. Sandy created Amelia from items like sunglasses lens, straws, bottle caps, even a babies pacifier can be found if you look close. We owe a special Thank You to Kathy Russell. We are so proud to say Amelia was installed May 1, 2021 at Main Beach in Fernandina Beach Florida.
